PRESS RELEASE

Stigmamente will attend the Welfare Days in Manfredonia, 27–28 May 2026, for the Erasmus+ KA210 project “Educational Perspectives: Understanding the Needs of Adult Roma”

Stigmamente will attend the Welfare Days in Manfredonia, on 27–28 May 2026, within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA210 project “Educational Perspectives: Understanding the Needs of Adult Roma”.

The European project is funded by the National Agency of the Republic of Serbia, Fondacija Tempus, under the Erasmus+ KA210 Small-Scale Partnerships programme, and involves partners from several European countries: Italy, Portugal, Serbia and Turkey.

During the two days, 27 and 28 May 2026, Stigmamente will conduct a series of interviews and video recordings with institutional stakeholders, social policy professionals and representatives of associations, with the aim of collecting reflections, experiences and proposals on ways to promote the inclusion of Roma adults in adult education, lifelong learning and social participation pathways.

Participation in the Welfare Days represents an important opportunity for territorial and institutional dialogue. Through discussion with public administrators, social services, Third Sector organisations, associations, schools, educators and welfare professionals, Stigmamente aims to explore the educational needs, access barriers and possible inclusion strategies addressed to the adult Roma population.

The interviews collected during the Welfare Days will contribute to the drafting of a series of European-level policy recommendations concerning the Roma population, which will be presented at the end of the project at the institutional headquarters of the Turkish Ministry of Family in 2027.

The project is demanding and ambitious, and requires a greater commitment than the average Erasmus+ Small-Scale Partnership project. For this reason, Stigmamente calls for the collective collaboration of institutions, local and regional social services, and the world of associations, in order to build a shared understanding of the needs of the territory, enhance the perspective of local stakeholders and promote a culture of inclusion of the Roma people based on listening, cooperation and social responsibility.

In this way, Stigmamente reaffirms its twenty-year commitment to the promotion of mental health and the fight against prejudice and stereotypes through good cultural, educational and social practices capable of countering stigma, marginalisation and inequalities, while fostering active citizenship and intercultural dialogue.
