The Mail Art Stigma exhibition turns twenty in 2025.

The call for artists was made through 400 invitation letters sent to various mail artists around the world, many from the international IUOMA network (International Union of Mail Artists) and others in close contact with one of the first three Italian mail artists, Tiziana Baracchi. More than 250 responded, from every corner of the globe

The theme, agreed upon by Stigmamente, the University of Foggia, the Chair of Psychiatry led by Antonello Bellomo, and the Magna Capitana Library of Foggia, was seemingly simple: the diversity of the mind and body. From it also came a fine art volume, thanks to the Province of Foggia and its then very active Independent Film Festival.

Twenty years later, the exhibition continues to captivate those who view it, observe it, or simply brush it with their gaze. It is a declaration of love for the richness of every form of diversity (today we should add the adjective “human”).

The exhibition, open in the historic center of Pietramontecorvino from September 19 to October 6, consists of a selection of works, both original and displayed on totems. The invisible cultural fabric intertwines with the social one: Stigmamente’s recipe for inclusion, which is not merely the result of conformist paths.

Like all the exhibitions featured in Terranima, it enjoys the patronage of the 21st Day of Contemporary Art AMACI, of the Uaremyproblem Pavilion at The Wrong International Biennale, and is part of the side events of the 20th Readers’ Festival proposed by the Presidio del Libro of Manfredonia.
